You can find shallows area on the shore, in about 1 to 10 feet depth. The best shallows spots are those which near a sheer downward slope. This provides smooth passage for crappies to get into deeper water. This travel happens after spawning. But they will remain in the drop offs for weeks.

As the word “windy”, we meant the winds which go to the shore. Most of the time, these winds drive a lot of food sources in the water so that the crappies will feed there.

To conclude, the best spawn area is one which shallow and has the windward shore. Keep in mind that it is not the spot where you will catch the prey. It is only the initiation of your fishing location.

When the summer comes, crappies will move to deeper areas during the day and spend their evening, night, and dawn in the shallows to feed. So your fishing time will be more effective in the low light. Still, you can focus your search in the areas mentioned above.

Depending on the city you visit, it might be difficult to find the strike zone. The challenge is harder if you fish in a certain area for the first time. So keep moving and looking until you find your strike zone. If there is no continuation in the strike zone you’ve found, repeat the method above and you will be doing good.
